The Wassily Chair, designed in 1925 by Marcel Breuer at the Bauhaus, is one of the first pieces of furniture ever created with tubular steel — a revolutionary idea inspired by the handlebars of his bicycle. Each authentic Knoll production is engraved in the metal frame with the designer’s signature and serial number, a detail that guarantees its provenance and long-term value.
Breuer, a Hungarian-born architect and designer, went on to shape modernist architecture worldwide and later received the AIA Gold Medal in 1968 for his contribution to design and architecture.
Owning a pair of Wassily Chairs is not just about seating — it’s about collecting living Bauhaus history. Over the years, authenticated sets have proven to appreciate in value, making them both striking design statements and enduring financial investments.
Dimensions (each chair): 79 × 75 × 73 cm (31.1” × 29.5” × 28.7”)
