This piece is not only a dining set — it’s a bold statement of 1970s Italian design, celebrating structural rhythm, experimental form, and honest materials.
The set features the Nodo dining table, designed by Carlo Bartoli and produced by Tisettanta in the 1970s, paired with four high-back postmodern dining chairs in polished metal. Together, they form a striking composition where balance, material contrast, and sculptural intent are at the forefront.
The most distinctive element is the table’s tubular metal base, where rounded steel legs intersect at the center and taper outward — a visual “knot” that gives the piece its name. The oval tabletop is crafted from black painted wood, framed by a soft rubber edge profile that adds both tactility and edge protection. The chairs complement the table’s bold lines with their tall, linear backrests and continuous metal framing — sculptural and elegant in equal measure.
Dimensions (Nodo Table): Length: 172 cm; Width: 115 cm; Height: 71.5 cm/ (67.72 in × 45.28 in × 28.15 in)
About Carlo Bartoli
Carlo Bartoli (1931–2020) was a key figure in Italian industrial design, known for his clean, refined language and attention to structure and use. His work bridges the poetic and the practical — always focused on user experience but never compromising on form.
The Nodo table, designed in the 1970s for Tisettanta, showcases Bartoli’s ability to merge functionality with graphic boldness. It remains one of his most recognizable creations and a quintessential example of Italian modernism evolving toward expressive minimalism.
